Local Development Framework update -

This framework will replace the Craven District Council Local Plan and will set out policies that will the guide the District for the next 15 - 20 years. Currently we have -

adopted The Regional Spatial Strategy which has increased our housing requirement from 180 new dwellings/year to 250 dwellings/year up to 2026.

After informal consultation we will produce our Publication in Autumn 08 of core strategy for formal consultation. This document will set out land use policies for Craven.

Site allocations development plan - sets out future land allocations for all types of development. There will a consultation on the latest raft of proposals - PLEASE BE AWARE THAT NO DECISIONS HAVE BEEN MADE ABOUT ANY OF THESE SITES SO FAR. Proposals can still be forwarded for land for development to be part of this process.

Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment(SHELAA)  - this will provide an important part of evidence base information which will help in preparation of core strategy and site allocations development plan document.

Have your say on any of the documents on the council website www.cravendc.gov.uk/Craven/Residents/PlanningServices/PlanningPolicy/LDF

If you are submitting a planning application and you are unsure of how to proceed, please contact me to get advice. If you are concerned about a proposed development near you and do not know how to voice those concerns I am happy to discuss the steps you need to take.
